Emfundweni Primary

Greetings from South Africa! After a long plane ride, I have finally arrived. My friends here at Emfundweni Primary School are finishing the school year. They will be out for summer in a few weeks. The students are called learners and kindergarten is called grade R here.

The learners say their morning prayers and sing songs at the beginning of the school day.
This is the library.
This garden is where food is grown to feed the learners.

The students stand in line to get their lunch and eat it outside. They sit or stand where ever they can find a place.
They get water from the water fountain. They drink from the fountain with their mouths or refill a water bottle.

During recess time, they can buy sodas and snacks from the shop.

At recess, they do not have playground equipment, so they play things like jump rope.
They are really good at it too!

I hope you enjoyed learning about my friends in South Africa. Visit my blog again soon to learn more!
